I have update the driver, so thats ok, but now audio cd's are not being read. Dvd is fine. Is there two lazers, one for each media, cd & dvd? Or does the one lazer do all? Please help.

If you download the latest media player 11 then this will have the software and drivers so you DVD/CD drive will work and will be able to read DVD and CD content. it will take about 10 minutes to complete, however if you have not got a genuine copy of Windows XP then you will not be able to do this. Good luck

Rollback to the previous version when all formats were working. The 'new' driver might be the problem. If this doesn't work, delete the DVD/CD-ROM profile from 'Device Manager' and refresh. Windows will install either the Philips-specific driver or a genetic one which will work either way.

Go to manufacturer's web site and check for any updates on the firmware and are you using good quality disks? Try cleaning the lens first then try a good disk.

Seems that drive has a lot of problems with it. All I can say is to get the latest update or drive. Here is a URL to check out though.
