I and I alone. Regardless of the habits of thinking and belief that I may have inherited, regardless of how I have been treated. I either continue these things, unconsciously or by choice. I am ultimately responsible for who I am. Everything else is excuses.
If you wish to be romantic, name influences. If so, maybe that is a question better posed in poetry or sentimentality instead of philosophy.

Almost every person I know, but mostly the bad ones. The best ones are historical philosophical figures, like Hegel and Karl and I guess Jesus Christ in an unusual way.

wow@placebo...well unfortunately I am human, and, in my formative years, needed people to help guide me into becoming confident in my identity and feel positive and use my potential for what it really is; there is no doubt that very person, for good or bad reasons, has someone that changed their lives and made them become a different, new person.
in my life, those people are my mother and my best Friend who both now live 6000 miles away.
