In science it is never up to anyone to prove anything wrong, it is always up to the person making the proposition to prove that his idea is credible. That's why Evolution wasn't accepted by scientists until after Darwin and others presented huge amounts of supporting data.

Since there is no supporting data (and it is hard to see how there ever will be unless God opens the sky and yells down "I did it!) for Intelligent Design, it is not really a scientific idea at all. AS the courts in the USA have decided (especially last year's decision by a Bush-appointed conservative Republican judge in Pennsylvania) Intelligent design is a religious doctrine, not science. So, how can you prove or disprove a religion?

You can't disprove intelligent design. That is one of the inherent flaws about that idea (NOT a theory). It makes no predictions so it can not be tested and disproved. It is an explanation that involves conjecture that boils down to magic.

Of all the evidence for evolution by natural selection and common descent, the fossil record is now the least important. It is still taught because it is conceptually simple. However, while it takes a few years of study to understand, molecular biology (DNA sequencing, universal genetic code) provides overwhelming evidence for evolution by natural selection and for the relatedness of species.

One of the best pieces of evidence for Evolution is the Panda's thumb
This is a species of bear that eats bamboo and has developed a "thumb" to help it grip the thin stalk. I am told that this is evidence that evolution must of occurred as the animal is a normal bear shape, although a little fat, except for this adaptation
Darwinian finches are another good example
You can't disprove "Intelligent Design" as it does rely on logic but faith instead and you can't disprove something that doesn't exist

That's tough.

There are a huge number of disprofs of intelligent design theory (transitional fossils, genetics etc) - I mean look at the way they always are looking for new examples of irreducible complexity - why not stick with the eye - since it was shown to have evolved with small steps - and we've shown animals alive today use intermediate versions why not give up there and admit they're wrong? Oh right, they can't because then they'll fear for their soul.

I'm starting to think creationists aren't worth debating with. I've never met one who understood evolution, even in broad principles. People that ignorant can't be reasoned with. You might as well just ridicule them and hope the education system gets better.

My understanding is that evolution occurs in simlpe stages and succesful variation leads to a new improved version of the organism evolving.
ID comes into play when a particular trait has no use or value pior to it mutating to something that is useful. If you were to look at DNA changes that leads to improvement of an organism, you will come to a point where you reach an extremely complicated chemical molecule which has no discernable purpose - how and why did this evolve if it had no purpose?
Somethig 'kick started' evolution - what and why?

Out of interest this is known as a 'nul hypothesis' - you do not prove your theory but verify it failing to prove your hypothesis - in this case that 'Intelligent Design does not exist'

Fossil records cross-refferenced with geological records would show that there had been mass extinctions throughout Earths history. Not much sign of intelligent design in that.

That would be the fossil record. No one can think (No one who is intelligent, that is.) that the bones of our ancestors, and the bones of the dino's, are fakes. They are found in strata of the correct era, and carbon dating proves the age within a certain degree. There is no reason to fake this information.

Intelligent Design is simply NOT a theory. They have never tested any hypothesis. They have never proven anything. They have never produced facts to support anything. Please, stop referring to ID as a theory, it simply is wrong to do so.

So, there is NO comparison.
