Many will claim it's our life style/ culture/ freedom, but for the majority of countries where the hatred began, it's about the US's Foreign Polices starting from years back as far as WWII. The meddling into other countries rulers/laws/etc. for the gain of control for their resources, EG: OIL & other, or trying to shut down the drug trade into the US by eliminating drug cartels in South America & funding & providing military arms or assistance to over throw a government. The list goes on & on, but the American public is always left in the dark, with the occasional bone thrown out like the Iran - Contra Scandal, which always ends with a scapegoat! The world hates the USA's interference in the world's back yard, though sometimes justified as in the case of WWII.
The fact that most Americans believe the terrorists wish to distroy the Democracy & Freedoms created by Western Culture is based on truth, but exaggerated. However, the cause of the Mid East's active terrorism is complicated, because it does involve a movement to destroy the decadence of the American culture. It also goes back to the culture clash during the Crusades, or the British Empires attempts to take over, or the division of the Arabic lands after WWI, but esp. due to American meddling for corporation profit, whether it 's in the name of Democracy, so peace will prevail, or out & out control of precious resources that the greedy "haves" wish to maintain.

Having said all this, the Extremist Fundamentalists who declare war on the USA & other Western Countries are not justified in the killing of innocence, nor in their fear tactics against any & all who oppose their beliefs or their opinions. That 's just plain Egocentric for the sake of control of POWER. Unfortunately, one could argue the leaders of the US, whether it be Corporate or Political, suffer from the same human error... EGO.

Too much mass media focus on the United of States America.

You can't terrorize the whole world if there's no one deliver the terror throughout the entire world.

Though really, there's not much of a 'terrorist' attack on the United of States America. So it's not the main target for 'terrorism'.

And the United of States America being a pawn usually is ordered by its master to terrorize other countries using sanctions, boycotts, bans, and so on.

Crippling the military power is nothing compare to criplling the economic power and the political power.

And Iraq is currently crippled on its economic power and political power. To be fair though, Saddam and Bush (both Sr and Jr) shared the same master and worked on the same team, they are only pretending to fight each other.

Dictionary definitions are no longer a finished handbook. they're a handbook prepare via what a committee thinks the present context is. this is not some thing to be lived via, and is not any longer meant to be such. Terrorism is attacking the individuals of a rustic (examine: no longer squaddies) with the particular purpose of demoralizing the individuals of a rustic into conforming their habit to what the aggressors choose for. What we did in Iraq isn't terrorism, simply by fact we did no longer attack civilians. We went after people who seen themselves squaddies. the problem is, civilians continually die in wars like this. it relatively is stated as collateral harm. And via they way, the UN shape would not advise something, simply by fact they do no longer seem to be a ruling physique. they haven't any sovreignty over all people.

Those saying they are jealous of us are wrong, they are anything but jealous. The truth is we are a main target for terrorism because we are hypocrites. We talk about spreading freedom and democracy yet support regimes that do just the opposite to their own people. For example, because of our own selfish interests, we supported Saddam Hussein in the 80's as a counter to Iran who we hated even more at the time. Also we support African dictators, because they hook us up with oil and they murder their own people.

Our foreign policy has created many enemies around the world and it is all to preserve our "American way of life". In other words, we get all the natural resources we want and we can turn the planet into our own personal trash can and screw everybody else. The consequences of this type of activities is terrorist attacks against us and global warming.

Probably the biggest reason for terrrorist attacks against us however, is our support of Israel. Israel is our brother. We give Israel weapons to defend itself and the terrorists hate this because they support Palestine.

If we stopped supporting Israel, got our *** out of Iraq, and weaned ourselves off foreign oil and stopped meddling in the worlds affairs for our own self interests, the terrorist attacks would lessen and we would regain the support of the rest of world. Terrorists attacks wouldn't completely cease because there are some out there that hate us no matter what, but it would go a long way to getting back the support of the rest of the world, including Muslim countries who could then assist us in defeating the rest of the terrorists.

Until then however, the terrorists attacks will never cease. We could kill them all and there would be someone else to replace them. They are much like cockaroaches, you think you get them all and there are 10 more behind the wall.

Because they have a religious basis for their hatred, they will never stop until they defeat us. The only question is whether we have the will and intelligence to defeat them. Unfortunately we have a bunch of morons in the White House called Neocons who f ucked up and got us into a quagmire in Iraq when we should have been focusing on capturing Bin Laden and defeating the Taliban in Afghanistan. Now we have lost the support of the world and will take major damage trying to extricate ourselves from Iraq. Our leaders have the will, but unfortunately not the intelligence to get the job done.

I don't know where you've been but for years long before America or all of Europe were introduced to Islams true intent Israel stood alone against terrorism.
For anyone to say suddenly that we are the main target of terrorism is nieve at best.
On September 11th America finally was able to do more than just look with remote pity at the bloodshed of a bombed out Pizzaria or a Bus in Downtown Tel Aviv.
On that day those of us who have taken this serious finally got it. Finally understood what Israel has known for generations. What God said in the Book of Genesis when He referred to the Islamic Nations as "Wild Donkeys."

The United States is not the only "main" target for terrorism. Terrorism takes place in many forms in numerous country's. Anywhere there are rules and regulations that people don't agree with, will cause insurrection. Ask those in Russia, Africa, China, Afghanistan, etc if they feel the terrorism is less notable in their country, then in the US. I bet you'll find they are just as concerned for their well being as those in the United States are for theirs.

From what I understand is America is a target for 5 reasons
.
I read conflicting views on Islam that is does or does not promote violence against infidels. If they do, then the answer is because they view us as a non-muslim nation and MUST BE converted at all costs. Not to mention US troops are stationed in Saudi Arabia and this pissed them off further because this country contains Mecca, the holy city and because of this Saudi Arabia is considered holy. For this reason this ticks them off that infidel forces are stationed there.

We did their country injustice or the natives feel the US treats their government as a puppet government for its whims. How would you feel if you knew China was calling all the shots in D.C behind the scenes and if any leader said a word about it would lose their career or worse and had a foreign military presence in you backyard? If you been watching how the CIA been kidnapping European and Canadian citizens and then sending them to black sites to be tortured, or remember the cold war in how the US constantly overthrew over nations and replaced them with horrid dictators (Saddam was set up and supported by the US to fight against Iran in the 80's i believe.) then this is an example of injustice done by the US government.

The US is a powerful enemy and has an arrogant habit of trying to tell other nations what to do and constantly use force to get others to do what we want. We often cause needless wars that cause a lot of suffering and it would not be surprising if the natives that were left over would have a hard spot with US forces bombing their neighbors, promise to rebuild, leaving and not following up on the promise to rebuild or fend for themselves after we promised we would defend them from the local bad guys. We also have a bad habit of breaking promises and a reputation for betraying who ever we deal with. Did you know if we followed up on our promise to support Ho Chi Min to kick the Japanese out of their country after WW2, the Vietnam War would have been avoided?

The final answer (this concerns the Middle east.) is we support Israel 100 percent with weapons and other such technologies. The reason for this is Israel used to be Palestine and from what I heard the Arabs there welcomed the European Jews with open arms, just to have the Jews to kick them out and send them in refugee camps throughout the world. This infuriates them to no end.

The final reason is The US is a powerful conventional military force and to those who read history know terrorism is a weapon of the weaker enemy who lacks the arms the US has in its arsenal and knows that using it against the States works.

I believe because the U.S.A. is known as the Super-Power.

Some smaller Countries may not be able to contend with terrorism and give in, but not the U.S. Also the fact that we are a free Nation, they needed to get an early start to try and wedge themselves through us. They started this I hate America, now look where it has taken them.

They are all a bunch of thugs that belong behind bars and in the "hole" away from any population and fed pork everyday!

Who says it is? Iraq has many attacks by groups fighting each other, why isn't Iraq the main target? Also Britain has had many attacks and plots, and Israel is a top target.
