I see no good reason why a female nipple should be more obscene than a male nipple.

Absolutely! And in many states (like NY, where I live) that's already the case as defined by law. While few girls stroll down the street topless, many now are baring their boobs on what are considered regular "clothed" beaches and some are sunbathing topless in parks, etc.
It's a start...!

Funny how all the boys are saying yes :) As a 16yo girl, I luv swimming topless in my pool, even with my guy friends, but the idea of going out in public topless does not appeal to me. I am not afraid to let guys I know and trust see my boobs but in public I would be scared of wierdoes gawking at me. Also, how old would a girl need to be to go topless. Do we as a society really want 12yo girls showing off their barely there boobs?

I agree. A nipple is a nipple no matter if it belongs to a man or woman. I don't think it is obscene at all. The human figure should be praise not banned such a double standard..

Girls should be able to, but think about it. If you were to walk around topless in front a bunch of teenage boys, they would get a little turned on...even grown men would get turned on. I think this is why women should wear bathing suits.

Because female breasts tend to be bigger than males unless of course they have REALLY flatboard chests...and because I think people are afraid that women will get jumped if they go topless
