This is a serious problem that we have tried everything to get rid of! The most effective thing I have done is scrape it with razor blade....but takes way too long and if not careful scratches the tile. Wouldn't try it on the granite though.

Here's the $10 safe solution if it suits you: "white" vinegar and a spray bottle. Spray on the vinegar and let it sit for about 5 minutes. A nylon bristle brush or green scrub pad helps work the deposits loose. Rinse well after use. Afterward a sprinkling of baking soda neutralizes any residual and takes the smell away. It is completely safe and can be used on the granite without harm. If you have extreme deposits don't try to remove the minerals all at one time. Do it in stages.

A regular cleaning will keep the deposits at bay and only takes a few minutes about once every 2 to 3 weeks. Also excellent for plumbing fixtures, pots and pans, kitchen equipment. The key is catching it before it gets out of hand.

Good Luck!

Hi,
I was going to suggest the same thing as "olddogwatchin"

You should already have some pool acid that you use to
keep the PH level in balance (Hydrochloric Acid, Muratic Acid) its the same thing.

Mix ten parts water to one part acid and pour it on let it do its job
then rinse off.
If you are having trouble keeping the acid on because of run off use dry acid.

Because you have a pool you already know to wear eye and breathing protection. When I use the acid in my pool and around it for calcium build ups, I aways check the wind direction and once I have poured it, I make a run for it.

PS. The acid will not harm your tiles or granite, my pool is also make of the Tiles, Granite and Wistow. Wistow is similar to Slate.

Eating lots of leafy greens, whole grains, oysters, watermelon, and blueberries (most any fruit will work, really) will help you give your body all that it needs to improve the quality of your erections, while cutting out processed foods, cigarettes and alcohol will provide further benefits. Add in a healthy dose of exercise at least three times per week, and you’re well on your way to better sexual health!

a diluted solution of muratic acid is effective...masons use it ...and occasionally pool cleaners will resort to it...I dont recomend that you use the acid as you would detergent... start in an isolated little spot, and test .... rince thouroly with presuer water, negate if necessary with soda...
This is not a house-wife solution... it is very much an industrial aproach to a difficul issue..

I used a common chisel and it took me a couple of weeks (part time) to clean my 20x40 pool but it looks great and minimal scratching.

I've done quite a few years in pool maintenance and I found only 1 product that works without wasting alot of my time or perspiration. It is called scale-away. Their site address is below. You can contact them to find out who your local distributor is.

Have you tried a pressure washer yet. I bought one of those about a month ago. It cleans everything.
