Sure, there are a ton of games to play - many you can play by yourself and figure out the rules on your own and not have to read. Of course, there are interactive games that you can play with others that requires conversational reading and writing. A surprisingly addictive game that does get repetitive called runescape is a good and free timewaster. www.runescape.net
You can download music and movies (illegally of course) using the likes of bittorent. Also, Yahoo and other sites offer free games such as poker, solitaire.
Play around with photos of your friends using adobe photoshop if you have it, if not, its possible to download for a 30 day free trial.

Put all of your photo's onto it and then just set them as screen savers. You could then spend all day long looking at family snaps and enjoying the memories.
