Advancements in theatre during renaissance period?

Hi, I am doing a project and one of the requirements are "A theatrical advancement achieved during the period of time" and my period of time is the renaissance of spain and england.

I tried google'ing but I did not find anything. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would be looking at every aspect of Shakespeare that I could. That is what defines Renaissance theater in England. There are many new books on Shakespeare at this moment...just hit a Barnes and Noble or Borders (if you have one).
