Yep....watched a whole program on it on Discovery or History channel.
Within 50 years.....we're screwed.
Why do you think Gore is pushing all this environmental stuff lately.....cuz he has the facts. But is trying not to put the 'fear of God' into the people.
"Genius at Work" above is going off on a tangent.
This subject is Sooooooo contraversal....you'll here the pro's and cons.
If anything....this is bringing to the attention that we NEED to
stop screwing with our environment and find other means ....such as WIND energy to produce energy.

I've heard conflicting information regarding this topic.
However, the conflicting information concerns the severity of global warming, not whether or not global warming is actually occurring. My understanding is almost all scientists agree global warming is real. The questions are how much, if any, is due to human activity, and as previously stated, the severity of the problem.
My personal opinion is that we should "err on the side of caution". If there is even a remote chance global warming is as severe as some people think, then we should act accordingly to prevent this problem from getting worse, and hopefully, even reverse global warming.

Global warming is a real ecological factor that has already influenced weather patterns, and will trigger additional problems for the future of our fragile balance that has in the past been ignored, and now we are paying for it, but do not worry, these things will happen but eventually will be for the good of human kind, with all technologies being held back right now for political reasons, and until governments collapse, and that can only happen if monumental cataclysms puts the hierarchy structure under extreme pressures, then any only then will technical advancements be accepted with open arms, sad thing about humans, but when ever you don t understand politics, put the money element , and everything becomes clear.

The world gets hotter and cooler by itself. But volcainos put just as much co2 in the air as people do. Is co2 doing it. Don't think so. the amount of co2 rose every year from 1940 through the seventys. Did the world get warmer? No it got cooler! They were worried about getting to cool. Now we are getting warmer again. The earth gets warmer without people doing anything. If it didn't, the ice ages wouldn't have ended.

I think about it as little as possible. Right now it's just a scare tactic. When and if things start happening we will be able to do some things, like move, and not do others, and nobody really knows what those are going to be. So just get on with life day by day until we know more. Even the experts don't agree.
So don't let it get you down.

we still have the possibility to stop it if we started using less energy and use electric cars instead of oil eating cars. Electric cars do exist but the oil companies have destroyed it! if people use electric cars (Ecars) then we use less oil and the companies get less money. the oil companies are swimming in dough (money) and aren't going to stop any time soon!!! the glaciers are melting fast and soon we will probably live in waterworld!
Also its going to keep rising every year unless we do something. and its going to take atleast 50 years until the earth starts getting really HOT!!! im probably going to die when that happens!!!

Who do we think we are to believe that we can change the world's climate? I'm sorry to tell you, but humans are too insignificant to cause that kind of change. But rest easy, because even if the polar ice caps did melt, it would be a gradual change, not an overnight catastrophe. Don't believe everything you see in the movies.

It's nothing to get worried about at all. While you hear about glaciers thinning, there are glaciers THICKENING in other areas.
Emissions DO NOT cause global warming. So this is something I wouldn't lose any sleep over at all. I'm not worried about it, and you shouldn't be either.

I'm kind of worried also,& I do believe in it. The earth is going to be chaotic when it does happen. I know the area I live in will flood but not as much as some places such as Florida.
