I don,t know when they started. I have been trying to find out, but every site gives conflicting info. I bought a 69 chevy pickup brand new, it did not have any belts, lap or shoulder. Later i bought a used 70 model. It did not have any belts, lap or shoulder. My 80 model, both my 82's and 1 of my 85's had lap belts only. The other 85 had lap and shoulder belts.

i'm restoring a 1986 Chevy a million/2 ton short mattress 4 wheel force p.c..-up. My truck became into particularly undesirable. I replaced inner and outer cab corners, inner and outer rocker panels. I pulled the windshield to restoration some rust around it and found out it became into worse than i assumed so I re skinned my roof with a sturdy junkyard roof. once I pulled the front clip off maximum each little thing became into rotted and did no longer not often even could be unbolted to drag off. I pulled the motor to rebuild it and located undesirable rust in the firewall 0.5 way as much as the windshield in the canopy that became into tarred over. thankfully I had a aspects Blazer that had a sturdy firewall in it that i became into in a position to apply on my truck. My rear physique section became into ripped from a loose setting up 6 inch pipe bumper crammed with cement that bounced up and down and ripped it. I nevertheless prefer fenders, inner fenders, hood, radiator help, windshield, weatherstripping, doorways, mattress, some indoors aspects and paint. A truck this old can prefer a great number of issues based how staggering you like it to be. they are incredibly staggering trucks while they are fixed up. you're able to look throughout this truck and determine how lots you prefer to put in it. Firewalls and roofs are actually not very probably to be undesirable regardless of the undeniable fact that it may ensue. look actual close.

I believe that for GM pickups, 1973 was perhaps the first year. They were not on the 1972, I have a 72 Chevy pickup and it only has lap belts.

Since you said 73-87 I am going to assume you mean their pickup trucks. My brother's 76 GMC has shoulder belts, and my dad's 72 does not. All CARS were mandated after 1968, and TRUCKS not until after 1972.
