The greatest scorer, and most dominant player ever was Wilt Chamberlain. Michael Jordan is not even close.

Jordan's best scoring year was 1987, when he averaged 37.1 ppg. Wilt topped that five times, including one year in which he AVERAGED 50.4 ppg. Think about that for a moment.....if a player today scores 50 points in one game, its headline news. Wilt averaged that for a whole season.

He also scored 100 points in one game. And, he's had 6 games in which he's scored at least 70 points. Jordan has none. Wilt scored over 50 points 119 times, Jordan 30 times.

He won 7 consecutive scoring titles, and probably would have won more, had his team not asked him to focus on other aspects of his game. So what did he do? He led the league in assists in 1968. A CENTER!!! Jordan was a GUARD, and never came close to that feat ( "pass" is a four-letter word to MJ ).

Wilt was also the greatest rebounder in history , leading the league in that catagory 11 times! He holds the record for most rebounds in a game (55....against Bill Russell), and highest average rebounds in a season ( 27.2 in 1961).

The guy was so dominant that the league invented rules meant to LIMIT his dominance, as opposed to Jordan, where rules were changed to enhance his game ( illegal defenses, flagrant fouls, hand checking, shortened 3-point line ).

It's not even close. The most dominant player of all time: WILT CHAMBERLAIN

Ocsar Robertson. The inventor of the triple-double and the only man to average a triple-double for an entire season.

And Wilt "100" points in one game Chamberlain.

My choices, by position...

PG - Iverson
SG - Jordan
SF - Bird
PF - Barkley
C - Kareem (I know, I know... but Kareem had to deal with more strict paint rules than Wilt did)

Runner up would be David Robinson.
