If the cloudiness is a bacteria bloom there's not much you can do,except wait it out. Keep doing your water maintenance, and when the bacteria eat all of whatever they are living on, the water will clear. If you have $100 to spend, a diatom filter may(not will),but may, clear your water. It's a nice accessory to have if you have multiple tanks, but they can only filter out the larger sizes of bacteria. Since you know your water parameters,I assume you have enough experience that you are not overfeeding, and that just about eliminates all the sources of cloudiness except bacteria. It's a frustrating problem, but if it's not harming your fishes health you can just wait it out.-----Sorry I couldn't offer an instant remedy.---Good luck.----PeeTee

Aside from what everyone else has already said, I tend to find that some foods make the water cloudy. I know that OmegaOne and New Life Spectrum don't... they're also a very high quality food.

Do you do regular water changes?

You can also get a liquid "cleaner" that basically binds to all small particles in the water and makes them sink - I wouldn't reccomend them, though. I think Hagen makes one called Particle Clear - around about $10.

Carbon tends to pull some of the cloudyness out of the water. Did you rinse out the rocks before you filled up the tank? There could be sediment on the rocks that has gotten into the water.

I'm with Pee Tee, if it's a general white cloudiness then it's most likely a bacteria bloom. Not harmful in and of itself and should clear within a few days to a week.

Putting some Carbom in my filter has always helped me out. I dont like using any other type of chemicals- once you start you cant stop. Go to your local petsore and buy a small bag of carbon, wait 48 hours and see what happens. Good luck!
