If she does dump you it wouldn't be a great loss since this would show that she is only in the relationship for the material benefits. Besides why would you want to be in a relationship where your kindness was not reciprocated? Whoever gets to the door first should open it for the other.

Okay, why? I don't understand these situations of "high maintenance" women. (This is coming from a woman) Why not just base your relationship on mutual respect and effort? No offense, as this is coming from a woman who pays all her bills and makes the exact same amount as her significant other. If you're in a shared household and you don't make the same income, I can see needing a compromise. I can also understand that showing your appreciation in the form of gifts is important for some. But, eh, if your short on cash she should be understanding -- simply you being a good, loving, supportive companion should be the most important thing. Not to be coldhearted but if she wants better "things" she should work towards being able to pay for herself. Sorry, I just don't understand these situations.

Opening the door and showing basic manners and courtesy...yes. Paying for everything, including toys (how old is she anyway?)...no.
You shouldn't have to buy her love and affection. There are other ways to show you care and are interested besides just throwing money at her. If she dumps you for this, she's a materialistic fool and you're better off w/out her.

Buy toys? Hahaha! That sounds pretty interesting. What kind of toys do you buy her? I've never really heard of buying a girlfriend (or boyfriend) toys.
You should probably open doors, but I would say it depends on how she treats you. If a girl doesn't treat you well, she doesn't deserve to receive a chivalrous gesture. (Chivalry is about RECIPROCATION, people; act like a lady and you'll be treated like one. That's how it is in theory, but it works out quite differently in practice, unfortunately...)
My personal opinion is, open doors for her but don't buy her anything other than OCCASIONAL gifts. (And occasional dinners.) People tend to get used to things, so don't overdo it if you don't have the money.

Wow... I go dutch on most of my first few dates, and after that money is usually fluid, so if I pay this time, they pay next time. But maybe that is just me. I'm usually pretty strapped for cash, and I don't think I have ever dated a person who isn't. In my relationships, it is fairly hard to figure out who is supposed to pay anyway, but I think that it is unfair for men to have to pay for everything... and most women can open their own doors too.

If she's the right girl she'll let you double duch. You pay half she pays half thats the way to date. If she's the right one she won't be tring to use up all your money in the first place. and when you say toys what do you mean are you like 13 or something, buying action figures for your girlfriend?

If she is with you only because you take her out and buy her things, then you should re-evaluate the relationship you are in. Regarding the door question, as far as I'm concerned, if I reach the door before my husband, I hold it open for him. You should hold the door open for either sex, if you are concerned about proper manners.

No, you don't. And if she does dump you, then she probably isn't the type of woman you want to be with(I, personally, can't stand women that think that a man ALWAYS has to do sh*t like this for them[I'm a woman, BTW]).
