does buying an installation disc at retailers mean that you can't play online or something? there is an account creation at warcraft.com and it's on the internet so i guess it has online play. and in the south park episode "make love not warcraft" the boys all buy the installation disc at retailers and play online. so is this true because i'm confused?

this discs is so that your cpu will hold your info and a lot of the game info, so that blizzard isnt hosting the WHOLE game, trust me it's a lot. What you do is instal the game (discs) and then make an account with the website. While you'll play the game similar to any you've installed from a disc to your computer, it will be online. There is NO offline game content

WoW is a online only game. Install and when its done it will ask you to make an account if you dont already have one. There should be a button. Just click it and it will take you where you need to go. It doesnt matter if you get the disks from retailer or download the install files diretly from blizzard.

You can play online you would just have to set up an account and it cost approximately 15 dollars a month to use their servers. Check out at their website! I'm sure they can go more in depth!

You can either buy the game at a local retailer or you can download it off of http://www.worldofwarcraft.com

Once you install the game, you create your account name and such on the website itself.
