The 'World of Turtle' galler at http:/www.austinsturtlepage.com is one of the best I know of.
Hopefully, one day someone will get around to writing a good ID guide for pet turtles! Doing it for the US species would be easy, but adding other species from around the world is the difficulty. Telling babies is also tough since they so often change so much going into adulthood.

Contact Felice Rood at 25 Starlit Circle, Sacramento...she has the Sacramento Turtle & Tortoise Club and she will know the answer...it is better to be informed so that you can create the right environment and know what the right care is for each species...916-421-1134 is the number to call.

Here's a website with good photos, mostly USA, but some species elsewhere, especially if they're common in the pet trade:
http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/
If you don't find it here, maybe you could post an edit with a photo or description and your geographic area (if this is something you found) or if you got it at a pet store.

It's the Chicago Herpetologist Society. They'll help you no matter where you live, they're comprised of University professors and scientists. Just send them a pic and they'll give you your answer. They're very very nice people!
