If its a ball mouse. You will need to clean the inside of the mouse. Open the buttom plate. Remove the ball. Get some alcohol and some cotton buds. Put some alcohol in the cotton buds and use it to clean the rollers. You will also need to clean the ball. Some of the dirt in the roller may have formed a cake. You may have to put a little pressure to remove the dirt cake in the roller.
Recommend, to replace it with an optical mouse. Cuz you dont have to clean it regularly.

You might have to reload your mouse drivers...but before that I'd suggest looking at the mouse properties in the control panel.
Click on Start/Settings/Control Panel and find the mouse icon. Double click on that and see if there is anything in there about changing the mouse direction.
What type of mouse is it? Does it have a setting on the mouse that you can change?

Since this is a work computer call your helpdesk and have THEM fix it! It's what they get paid for!!! (I used to work on a helpdesk so I'd know)

That's a setting in your mouse driver. Go through your mouse's setup wizard again if you don't want to get into the control panel.

a ball mouse or a fiber optic. If it's a ball mouse, take off that bottom plate and clean the lint of the rollers, if it's fiber optic, I'm not sure.

Control Panel > Mouse Icon
There are settings there that control which way the mouse works
Try adjusting them there.
Since it is wireless, you can not open and clean it. That only works for a "ball" mouse.
*******************************
SINCE this is your WORK computer, talk to whoever administors the computers. They will be able to remove the restrictions, reinstall the drivers, or replace the mouse.

Buy a new mouse they are cheap. They start at $3.49 ea.
If they won't let you buy a new one swap it with that person's or someone else's computer when they are not around.

Unscrew the circle on the bottom. Take a couple of q tips with rubbing alcohol and clean the wheels inside.
