Bulgaria is an amazing place to visit for a holiday. Sunny beach is a tourist area so you will not get to see the true Bulgaria unless you can manage to visit Bourgas which is close by.

The Bulgarian people are wonderful and the food is great, oh and the beaches are REALLY nice.

My favourite holiday place is Varna, which is further up the Black Sea coast from Sunny beach

I found Bulgaria very nice. I didnt go to sunny beach though!
I imagine sunny beach will be quite commercial, probably not as pretty as the mediterranean...but as a country overall there are some very nice places....and sunny beach is not far from places like nesebar which is very nice!
the place is cheap, the people friendly and the culture beautiful...oh and foos is very nice! ;-)

Its nice :) There is great nightlife. Sunny beach is may be the best resort which is very close to Nessebar ( a very nice town and resort with great ancient part). Its really worth going on holiday there because u will have lots of fun and its cheaper than many other resorts. U get approx. the same things but at a lower price. And most impotant the weather is very nice !!!

Bulgaria has many beautiful places to visit but I would advise you to stay away from big resorts. Golden Sands and Sunny beach have many new luxurious hotels, but the place starts to look like concrete jungle. Plus, building companies never succeed to finish in time and you might find yourself living near a building spot with all its noise and dust during your precious vacation days.

I would recommend smaller resorts like Nesebar, Sozopol, Albena. Or, if you are into mountains, a short vacation in Stara Planina (Balkan mountains). In 2005 we had great week there, for as low as 30 lv. per night for double room at this place:

This is 1 km away from the town of Elena.

Well...I don't know yet...but we have booked to go to Sunny Beach in August this year. I put a question on here about it and I got very positive feedback...relief! Also all the research seems very positive.

It is a very poor country and children do beg but Sunny Beach is supposed to be good.

Similar to Mallorca. Cheap party, big ugly blocks of concrete for hotels, great beach, warm weather.

There is not much to do in these tourist resort cities besides geting drunk. My advice: Consider booking a two-day trip into the country side through your hotel to see a bit more of Bulgaria.
