It is not unusual to see this in East Africa - men will often hold hands when having a private converstation in a public place.

It would be okay, but weird. In some cultures it's very normal, but not in the U.S. (I've never been to Canada). If two male platonic friends were walking around holding hands, they wouldn't be lynched but they would probably get some weird looks. I know I would assume they were lovers.

It's ok to ddo it but people would think yall were dating. My best friend was Chinese and in her culture, holding hands was normal so when we went places she would sometimes hold my hand. Lots of people thought we were dating and that we were gay. True, I am a lesbian but she wasn't. Since she didn't care, I didn't care. You shouldn't care.

Cultures are different. It is true that other cultures don't "read" anythng homosexual into men holding hands,. but,. that does not mean that they condone homosexuality. Perhaps someday mores will change, but, that occurs over time.

unfortunately in jamaica if persons see men holding hands they will be beaten.
