I was just looking at Sidney Crosby's players' page on NHL.com and it made me curious. It's weird looking at this guy who's mister awesome professional athlete and realizing that I'm only a month older than he is...talk about different lives for people the same age! So, is there anyone in the league who's younger than "Sid the Kid"? Don't these people think they ought to go to college?

Out of NHL regulars, I believe that Jordan Staal is the correct answer. To my knowledge, there are not any other 18-year olds in the league (who are regulars).
There could be an 18 year old or two from the AHL (as long as they didn't come from the Canadian Hockey League -- where those graduating players must be 19 to play in the AHL)

yeah. sid the kid is 19 but they're are many eighteen year old players...and i'm pretty sure jordan staal is the youngest. and they'll make more money playing in the nhl than if they went to college and got a job. and by the time they're nhl career is over. they'll have enough money to live off of. or they'll do something else.

I do believe it is Jordan Staal if you're talking regular players and not call ups who play a couple games. And to think that Pittsburgh had to decide if they were going to keep Jordan for the season or save on the salary cap and send him back to the minors for a year :^)
