Beautiful country. Lots of blues clubs. People are friendly. Lots of poverty, but it doesn't seem to bother the people. When I was younger, I was hitchin thru Mississippi and some folks saw me walkin along and offered me dinner and a place to sleep for the night. I've always remembered that. Nothing but good memories about Mississippi.

Well, I'm in Louisiana about 1 hour and a half away. We used to go to Mississippi a lot on the weekends or long holidays to go to the beaches and they had some fun waterparks and amusement parks to go to. However, since Katrina I haven't been and I don't know what if any of that is left. Last time I went, and I'm talking mainly about Boloxi - Gulf port areas, there were a lot of casino's and just something to do for everyone. Like I said, I don't know if they've been able to rebuild those areas yet. But the weather there is like it is here.............hot, humid, and it rains a lot.

Hot and humid Summers. Mild winters. Home of the blues. Flat delta farmland. Timber, Cotton, Corn, Soybeans, Poultry, Rice, Catfish are some of our main agricultural products. Beautiful rolling hills. Great fishing and hunting.
Birthplace on some of nations best writers, musicians and athletes.
Ranks on the wrong end of most health and economic lists.
Casinos in several areas of the state.
Races get along fine though still pretty segregated.
My home and I'm proud of it.

It's the best place in the US to live. Good climate variation, great people, wide range of landscape types, large cities for those who like them and plenty of small towns with an atmosphere that's hard to find. Pretty generic answer I guess but we have a lot to offer. Check out the official website at www.state.ms.us.

It has beautiful countryside. Mostly pine trees. Lovely coastline (at least before Katrina). I usually comes in 50th in every ranking of the States on quality of life. Those of us in Texas love Mississippi and Louisiana because if it weren't for them we'd be in last place.

To be honest I drove through it en route to my new home but as I left Texas it started to get greener and greener. (late June) It continued to be green and clean highways all the way to Alabama. I would say it is very pretty.
