so, are "overseer" and "supervisor" synonims or do they do different works?

Both words mean the same. In the USA, 'oversight' is used more in the context of supervision, while in the UK, it is more used to denote an unintentional error. One has to make out the meaning in the context in which this word is used. I found it rather confusing at first when i came cross this word used in the sense of supervision.
Overseer and supervisor would also mean the same thing.

Oversite Vs Oversight

Overseer and supervisor mean the same thing.

Supervisors supervise, and overseers oversee, but the noun to go with oversee is not oversight, because oversight already means a completely different thing - an mistake made by forgetting to do something.

So the word oversight is nothing to do with the word oversee.

To supervise is to watch someone actually performing a task, for example my supervisor checked my work at the end of the day.
This supervisor might also be called an OVERSEER : they would oversee your work.

An OVERSIGHT is different: it is an error of omission, something is overlooked or missed. "To forget to wish you happy birthday was an OVERSIGHT on my part".

Isn't the English language tricky!

great question madhavi:) yOU know though these words sound synonimous but still there lies a "deep" difference !! Happiness can be found of things which may not even be beneficial to our spiritual or psychological aspect like we may go out & have our favourite dish & clothes etc., we would feel happy. But satisfaction comes from a kind of achievent, if we get good grades in studies we would get a positive feeling that says "hard word paid off" now thats more beneficial isn't it ;p[ Now peace.... I think it depends on what attitude we adopt towads the "activities" we do for "happiness" or either "satisfaction", peace actually exist in our self, it just has to be found by us. A person of ignorance might feel peace while a hard worker could be strresed. It can be even oposite to that . So peace needs to found by us.
