I am positive both my parents were "assisted" in their death, especially my mum.

I think the practise could lead to abuse, this is for certain.
If you could take out this probability, then I would say YES.

Lets face it life is a risky business. But I would hate to whither away in an old folks home., and I would hate to linger on, artificially.

A person "should" have the right to say, "I'm in pain, my body is finished, I'd like to leave now."

Other people "shouldn't" have any rights over this decision at all.

When it is time to go, it is time to go. We are taught that the goal of a believer is to be reunited with his/her maker, so it should be an easy decision. Having worked in nursing homes, and seen unconscious people with tubes in and tubes out, just laying there and developing bedsores, it was a real eyeopener. To be in such a situation is a terrible thing, and not what I want. I have made my decisions clear and signed proper papers which are on file with my doctor. Don't want any 'right to lifers' postponing and forcing me to endure such indignity. Best wishes
