lets go over it shall we...
Jake Peavy
Greg Maddux
Chris Young
David Wells
Clay Hensley

David Wells and Greg Maddux are both almost for sure going in to the hall of fame. Chris Young had a no hitter 8 1/3 innings in 2006 and played incredible at the end of the season last year. Jake Peavy is one of the premier pitchers of the MLB and Clay Hensley is not to be taken lightly either.

Once they are taken out you have to deal with Cla Merideth, Tim Stauffer or Scott Linebrink. And then to close the game is the living legend Trevor Hoffman. I did'nt understand why this was ignored in all the other questions here.

I think that no one care because the Padres have barely anything but SP, (which is very good but not terrific) The problem is age. Greg Maddux is closing in. Although Wells pitched no hitters he is very old and is no future 45 year old pitcher like Jamie Moyer.

While I don't think David Wells is a sure bet hall of famer, I agree that the Padres are the team to beat in the NL West.

Peavy and Young are a great 1-2 punch and then Maddux following is a great thing for SD in that pitchers park. I think they have a good shot to make the World Series as long as they don't have to face the Cardinals again in the NLDS. The Cardinals just seem to have the Padres number.

I actually think of a extra useful question is how long will the Padres be sure to maintain their team in tact. Gonzalez and probable Bell have been pegged all season consequently some distance as better than probably to be moved in the previous the commerce last date by using fact San Diego isn't a huge adequate marketplace to have the flexibility to pay them the money they'll % for a clean settlement. I actually think of that till the gang nears the tip of the season with a functional threat at a international sequence start, they'll as quickly as back sell homestead in the previous the last date and start up up yet another rebuilding technique. the solid element is that taking part in in PETCO they'll continuously be aggressive as long as their pitching is 0.5 way first rate.

umm because they are the san diego padres. they may win the division again, but like the past few years, they will play the cards in the DS and lose easily. im not doubting their pitching, though wells will have a rough season, maddux will be streaky (who cares if they are future hall of famers, we are talking the present, not the past 20 years or w/e). peavy is, has been, and will be sick. young wont be as good as last year, but produce more than what a 4th starter should. dont know too much bout clay. their bullpen has always been good so theres no arguement there.

I thought i was the only padres here. Anyway i agree with the padres do have the best pitching the the NL however wells is not a sure hall of famer. The only thing in the way of the padres is their hitting if they preform like they did last year hitting wise there do for a log season

Because Wells, Maddux are on the major downside of their career. Hoffman has lost about 10 mph on his fastball and is now relying on location for a closer......and he's on the downside of his career.

C. Young is no Cy Young

But Jake Peavy, I consider him the best NL pitcher.

Becuase outside of Jake you have nothing that is currently dominate.... a lot of OK pitchers.... in a weak division. May get you back to a 1 and done in the playoffs.

Your wrong about the padres pitching being ignored. I know for a fact that the AARP is paying very close attention to them. I still remember back to back to back to back homers given up against the dodgers.
