My boyfriend borrowed $800.00 from me back in August of 2006 and has yet to pay me back. He was in financial problems and needed the money so I let it to him and he and I agreed that he would pay me back before I went on a trip in December. I havent scene the money yet and have asked him several times for the money and he always ignores me or says he doesnt have it or tries to change the subject. He goes to school and gets loans to pay for his rent and bills but doenst have a job and everytime I tell him to get a job he gets mad at me and says I will stop nagging. I work 40 hours a week and thats just getting by. I had to ask my grandparents for money($150.00) in the past because I am so broke. No one knows that I gave him the money.
I am not sure what to do. I have all sorts of credit card bills .He doesn't help with the house work at all. I spend all my Sundays cleaning the house while hes on the computer playing games.
What should I do?

Slap him, and tell him to get his affairs in order, to shape up or ship out. if he doesn't comply, then sueing is an option, or ask his family for help? MAKE HIM get a job!! tell him "i'm going to nag!! you NEED to do this! " explain to him your position and make him walk in your shoes. if he doesn't comply, then forget him. I'm sorry, but you sound too good for him anyway.
Hope this helps!

Hi Linds,

this boyfriend sounds a real asshole! If you didn't need the money so much I'd say give him his marching orders. But then, you're not getting the money back anyway, are you?

Have you got a big brother? Maybe your Dad?

Whatever happens he does not sound like a worthwhile excuse for a 'boyfriend' he doesn't help in the home, doesn't act responsibly and snaps at you for asking for the money back.

You can do better than this no-hoper, just try to get your money back first.

(maybe start seeing a very large professional wrestler?)

Good luck anyway, you've had enough bad luck meeting this guy in the first place.

Cheers,

BobSpain

No offense, but he sounds like a dead-beat. You could try taking him to small claims court. Its best that when you "loan" money in the future, that you have a written agreement between the two of you so that you can take it to court and have it as proof. I say, kick him to the curb and get on with your life. If he's not helping you out in anyway, you don't need him.

I think you know what to do.
Kick his lazy asss out the door and then sue him in small claims court.
