I find it odd that anyone who believes in God or calls themselves a follower of Jesus, also believe that a woman shall have the right to terminate her pregnancy thus ending a life which was granted by that very same God. Let's hear from you who will contradict your beliefs, non-believers, we all know what you think so don't bother responding...

The fact is they CAN NOT call themselves a Christian if they also believe in Pro-Choice! I see many responses to your question stating that "the bible doesn't state it" and blah blah bah, but the question to these so-called Christians is how they would explain this to Jesus in person. Would Jesus give them a thumbs up to this ridiculous line of thinking?? The fact is they want it both ways, they PICK AN CHOOSE what they want to believe and blame it on "free will".

Well the thing is abortion was a completely different issue when the Bible was written. Nowhere in the Bible is modern safe, surgical abortion addressed whatsoever, nor do I know of anywhere abortion is addressed at all in fact...

Christ's purpose was clearly not to give people anal rules to live by regardless of their situation. Even if the gospels are not word-for-word correct and have been changed over history, the spirit of Christ's teachings shines clearly through, and I do not believe abortion contradicts these teachings.

Christ's teachings regarding being kind to people, particularly not killing, are based on the idea of creating a peaceful caring community, and improving the situation and happiness of everyone you live with through charity, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance and non-violence. As a fetus cannot feel anything, killing it is more akin to killing an animal (animals CAN feel and are often killed in the Bible) than killing a grown human. When killing a fetus you are not killing someone that can actually feel the hurt, so it is not really a violent or unkind act. A fetus can feel pain the way a fish can feel pain perhaps, but not the way a human can as they are not aware enough to understand pain. And sometimes when a baby is not wanted, killing the fetus before it is born will actually be beneficial for people's well-being.

I am pro-life personally, and raised Catholic. Even though I could never abort, Just listen to me for a minute. I'm a nurse, I am a mandated reporter for Child abuse and neglect.

With drugs so ample, and so many are using and selling those drugs... I see women having babies because they can. They get more welfare/ child support and wont work. Just live the party life. None of which are truly being a mommy.

Would you rather see a child aborted in the early first weeks, or a mother that truly doesn't have "time" for her babies..... abusing and neglecting them. I have reported until I am Blue in the face, the same children over and over for SEEING the mother hit the child, ( I dont mean scold or punish properly) I mean HIT. If they act that way in public how do you think the children get treated at home?

The child protective services Have so many reports, that most of the time they dont do anything. Or find it "unfounded" to clear up the books. I know a woman that was reported in Illinois, 17 times in 3 weeks for abuse and neglect of her 4 children ages 4 and under. They didn't do anything . Sadly One of the children died, cause was from falling down the stairs, my question was it did the child have help?

So is abortion worse then the child being abused for years. I myself I could never. I just wish people would use protection or not have sex instead of making little babies that have to pay the price for thier actions.

Edit: To the one who had the "oh poor teenager, dies because she cant feed herself or her baby" Thats crap. That teenager will go on welfare.............. sit on her butt , not work, wont admit or doesnt know who the dad is so she wont get child support. She will have men live with her and not turn it in Because that would lower her food stamps. OH PLEASE.

She will be on Maury 6 times testing the 10th daddy, saying IM 100% SURE ITS HIS MAURY!

She will get her, food , housing and medical all paid for by the state as she pops out 3-4 more kids. And wont work, and will sponge off the system for 20 + years. Thats how it really works , not like you had it outlined.

Scenario One: Young girl becomes pregnant, is forced to give birth and then must care for the baby. She has no income and soon succumbs to drugs and alcohol because there are very organizations to help her because everyone is putting forth their best effort only to prevent abortion. She and the kid both die because they cannot afford food and cannot find a home.

Scenario Two: Young girl get an abortion, she finds a nice man, marries, has four kids and all grow up to be very happy, law abiding Christians.

Who are you to judge? The woman alone is repsonsible for this decision and rather than bitching about abortions, why not set up an organization to help women provide for their children, or encourage them to give birth.

The bible also, I believe, says that man has free will. If God gives man free will, who are you to take it away?

Besides, a woman who truly wants an abortion will find a way and will likely endanger her life trying to abort a baby.

Also, at early term abortions, the baby is little more than a collection of cells anyway. Your body disposes of cells on a daily basis. If you want to argue about potential intelligent human life than refer to Scenario Two.

I don't believe really that abortion is the answer, but I do respect people's ability to choose their fate, and I will not force my religious values on those who have opposing ones or those who are not religious.

I find it odd that people follow a religion at all...the bible is full of contradictions, so how can one use it to justify or condemn any behavior.

If christians spent their energy on helping people, like Jesus did, instead of judging and condeming everyone's behavior or trying to legislate morality, the world would be a better place.

So you think it would be better that if a woman finds herself the victim of rape, and is then with child, the woman AND child die because of no money to support them, on the streets? Great idea! it's for the greater good. the woman, if she lives, may later live on, to say, birth more children. there have been many philosophical arguments, and i don't normally approve of abortion, but in circumstances like this, i believe it is justified.

in line with danger they dont have self belief the spirit enters the physique till its born?? Or presently in the previous? And IF that have been actual, it wouldnt be any form of homicide, might it? if fact be recommended, we dont understand whilst the spirit enters the physique, yet a clever individual might by no potential make that gamble. I wholeheartedly have self belief abortion to be incorrect. Disgustingly incorrect. yet i will additionally see somebody elses perspective. additionally, a large type of Christians have self belief that they shouldnt vote some thing that places their morals on people who dont share their faith. This argument I even have fairly the beef with, simply by fact what are we if we incredibly cant vote our very own huge wakeful without aggravating what others think of?? yet despite.

There are about 300 Christian denominations. They split offf because they have different interpretations of the Bible. Perhaps you need to learn about other Christians. My moderate Presbyterian upbringing taught that it was blasphemous to judge others because only God can judge. Our teaching was that, while we should try to be as good as possible in our lives, we should always try to be as nonjudgemental as possible. That differs greatly from those Christian denominations that constantly judge others.or believe they are the "chosen"..

Every single person who calls themselves a Christian does not have to interpret the Bible in the exact same way. Heaven forbid that people should be able to make decisions for themselves. Can you recite one verse in the Bible that explicitly says that abortion is a sin?

I personally am pro-life, and would never consider having an abortion, however I also know that God gave us free will. Knowing this, I cannot force my beliefs on anyone else. Remember, "Judge not lest ye be judged".
