I am living in California right now, but I am not from here. My wallet was stolen The DMV here is telling me I need my birth certificate to get one. Where I was born told me it would take 6 to 8 weeks, before I get it. This is too long what do I do, please???????? some-one H E L P ME

If you call the courts building in the city you were born in they will "usually" fedex you a copy for a large fee. Search "Vital Statistics" as well. There are services taht do it faster for a larger fee as well.

Here is a good reason why you should have those important documents with you all the time, can any family back home get it for you and mail it back?

Do you have friends or family that can go an pick one up for you? Then they can mail it to you overnight mail -

i always have my friends go -and there usually is not a problem at all.

See if they will expedite your request for an extra fee.
