Yeah, I wouldnt rule out that you have a virus or trojan horse or something. It is possible even if it doesnt show up in Norton or Lavasoft. Make sure you update both of those programs quite often, as thats the only way they know how to define what the current viruses are. you may have a virus that shows up after an update. In the meantime look out for several taletell signs of a possible virus. Programs, or features that you did not install seem to appear out of nowhere. Your home page is changed all of a sudden. Your start up is real slow, and seems to have something running in the background slowing it down. You can't boot into safe mode at all, or your system restore or firewall is turned off. You have icons down in the right side of your taskbar that wasnt there before. If you keep getting a pop-up that says something like "Your system is infected! Download PC Doctor now....or "click here for a free scan.." Never fall for that...that is a trojan horse, and is a pain in the *** to get rid of. (Now dont get that confused with Microsoft or Windows updates.) If its a anti-virus program other than the one you are using, dont do it!!If you remeber that you or somebody else may have clicked on it, than there you go, thats more than likely it. Hopefully, thats not it. Email me for more help if you need to...clone17@gmail.com

sounds like a virus, i know you have checked but go to panda active scan, an online scanner and that should find the problem. if no virus go to pcpitstop.co.uk and run the full tests, you will find out what the problems are, maybe a defrag. also download CCLEANER free registry cleaner, very good.

First of all try cleaning out your computer by getting rid of any software you dont need. Get rid of your temp files and cookies.
run a good spysweeper and virus checker. If you have xp try a repair . Go to pc pitstop and run a full test on your computer it will tell you what you can do to improve it.

I would download DFT (drive fitness test) to see if the hard drive is going bad (free form IBM).
A couple of virus companies let you do a free web-based virus scan (just to make sure).
If all else fails, boot form the Windows CD, let it detect that Windows exists, then do a REPAIR. It will fix your Windows in place.

right i think people now know my opinion on NORTON antivirus(it is PANTS)
like the other person said... go to panda active scan and run that instead.
you have to run it in internet explorer.
when you do and it finds problems with your system, maybe you will consider changing over to PANDA antivirus software as it is one of, if not THE BEST antivirus around.
