Erm...you didn't state what kind of emotions arise when people stare at you. Arousal? Fear? Do you like it? I'm guessing you don't like it.

Well, do you know why they stare at you? Obese? Scars? Wheelchair-bound?

You can change some things and other things you cannot change. I find myself staring at people all the time, for no reason. As a human, I like to observe what other humans are doing, with no judgments attached. Of course, some people may take it the wrong way. They might think I'm staring at them because of the pimple on their nose (which I probably didn't even see!).

I think you can handle your emotions by thinking good thoughts about yourself. Chances are you don't even know why people are staring at you half of the time. If you think, "they're staring at me because I'm ugly!" then you will feel anger. However, if you think "they're staring at me because I'm good-looking!" then you'll probably feel great and want them to stare some more.

You can't change other people, but you can change yourself, either physically if there is really something physical that you can change to make them not stare, or mentally, which is the easier way.

I do this excercise with almost every encounter.I stare at people just to see their reaction. Most of them will shy away, some will just look down, but most of them will be intimidated. However, what they dont understand that this increases your confidence.
You can learn to control your emotions by continuing doing this exercise. This will help you with your personal and love, life. And guys, if you like girls staring at them will show them that you are a confident man.
The next time someone (like a pretty girl) stares at you, dont hesitate to look back until she becomes unconfortable. Stare at them until they shy away. It will help control your emotions. Stare, Stare, Stare

What ever you do....DON'T do what I did about 30 years ago...I hated it when people would stare at me....My sister and I was eating at McDonald's (Yes they had McDonald's that long ago!) the man kept staring at me....staring....staring....I turned around and looked at him to give him the hint...but he kept staring...staring...so I took a really big bite of hamburger...chewed...chewed...chewed...and then turned and looked straight at him...and opened up really wide...I still can't believe I did that...but he stopped staring. I could really care less anymore...stare all day if they like...I don't waste my energy worrying about what others think or do anymore...Be Blessed.

Talk yourself through it. Think " I'm totally confident in myself. I know I'm a good person and I help a lot of people. This person might be jealous of me. But that's okay, because I'm fine."
