Nobody has been convicted of treason since the second world war.
Perhaps you should focus your concerns on real threats.

No Treason is an act agianst the country. Usually selling secrets or speaking them outloud to intentionally harm your own country. Giving away troop movements. Telling terrorists how we are tracking them. Like the New York Times. In the middle of a war, thats treasonous.

Depends which country you are in.
Personally, a country is only a land that you were born in. What if your mother was working/ holidaying/ visiting another country and you were born there. It is all land and we should forget about our social demograph.
Yes, be poud of yourself, your family and where you come from but it all depends on the government at the time as to whether you agree with their prinicples and boundries.
You should not be giben the death penalty unless you consitute a very serious threat to the majority of the population that you are living in, eg, serial killer, genocide, peodophile, part of an organised terrorist group (proven) and other mass threatening things
look after your family and your loved ones.

Freedom of speech allows americans to speak out if they feel something is not right, ie. war protests...However, intentially trying to harm the country's security by selling secrets to the enemy or advocating the violent overthrow of the govt could lead to one being convicted of treason...In a time of war, such action's could result in the death penalty.

the government uses a certain standard to deem an actoin or statement to be treasonous. The term clear and present danger applies here. exactly what represents a clear and present danger is debatable.
