After moving to Texas a year ago , we have missed our White Castles more and more . Most reciently my wife and I got into a debate over the the standard makings of a slider . One of us claims there is a ketsup / mustard sauce that is put on them . The other claims there is simply onion , meat , a pickle our two , and the bun . Could someone please clearify this as our battle has insued for more trhan a week now .
I did not state who thought what to get a more nonbias and truthful answer .

Definitely no ketchup or mustard. You have to ask for it. We also moved away from White Castle and try to get em every time we're home.

To be honest I thought this question was going to be "Ooooh them sliders they really put a number on you!" because yes, they go right through you. BUT I LOVE THEM, The ones that used to be in Kansas City, and the ones I have been to in STL were onions no ketchup/mustard.

Did you know the grocery store carries frozen white-castle burgers? They aren't exactly the same but they are still darn good.

I'm from Columbus, Ohio. The only thing on a slider is the Bun, Meat grilled in onion peaces, and then the dill picklesare added
You have to ask for anything else you want added.

Looking at the copycat recipes, the key ingredient is the onions.

FAKE WHITE CASTLES
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
1 can mushroom soup
1 lb. Velveeta cheese (opt.)
Butter
1 lg. onion, chopped
Brown onion in butter sauce. Brown ground beef and drain grease. Add both soups and cheese. Heat until cheese is melted. Spread over buns, (or combine soups and ground beef, make into patties). Fry in browned onion/butter sauce. Serve on bun.

There is definitely not any ketchup or mustard put on them here at Kentucky / Tennessee white castles.

If you ask for ketchup or mustard, they provide those little packets.
