gerbils are way better than hamsters.
here's why:
gerbils are- friendlier, bond tightly, don't bite, don't pee everytime they are picked up, and gerbils are dinural which means they are awake when you are awake, and sleep when you sleep, gerbils are also cleaner, and cuter
hamsters are- mean, stink more, bite, usually pee on you, are nocturnal, so usually all you see is the back of their head, sleeping in a corner, plus hamsters cannibalize young, and sometimes each other(they are scary little things!!) the ONLY plus abou them is they are fat and cuddly.

I think Hamsters are much better than gerbils. To me Gerbils are more like rats and I hate rats! The only catch with hamsters is they are nocturnal so be prepared to hear them playing around at night!

Hamsters are much better. Every time I used to come in the house my hamster would pook her nose on a piece of plastic to make noise so I would come over and say hi! They have WAY more personality. Girls are meaner and cleaner. They only go in one spot. The boy hamsters go anywhere. :D They girls can be a little mean unless you get them VERY young. The boy hamsters a very laid back. I like the really furry teddy bear ones.

Hamsters all the way! I love hamsters because they have soft cuddly fur and I think there very nice (if you know how to tame them) and they are not stinky you just have to clean the cage.Gerbils on the other hand are nice to but I like Hamsters more.

hamsters r way better they r much cuter and theyre easier to clean after. they eat their own poop and they r softer. theres a studdy that hamsters are more nice and gerbils bite more

A hamster is definetly better, not only do they have more personality but they are more affectionate with you. They really do love you and can form a companionship with their owner.

Hamsters are better because they are smaller and more friendlier. They also have more personality!!! If I were you I would get a hamster...they are so cute and cuddly!!!!!
