Good question. I believe that you are right in saying so. They are highly aware of their environment at all times. They can have tendencies of perfection and feel easily offended. It's just a personality trait that may be inherent or a product of their upbringing.Having low self-esteem or being brought up in a strict religious household may contribute to a person's standard of perfection.

On the flipside, being naturally intuitive has many good qualities. They can understand the differences in people better. The tend to lead safer lives and their instincts consider things from many angles before beginning a course of action. They tend to act upon something before it wreaks havoc in their lives. For example, they might go out and get a new car battery before the old one goes bad because they instinctively know the old one is due to die at anytime.

Their are tradeoffs between the two. I don't imagine that it is true in every instance and application, but there is a correlation in this type of personality.

There are at least two ways in which people can be considered "highly sensitive":

Some people seem to have a natural knack for "tuning in" with other people, sizing them up, understanding different personality styles, perceiving interpersonal situations, etc.--these people do seem to be "naturally intuitive," and this can be viewed as a very positive attribute.

But then there are some people who are "highly sensitive" in the sense that they "bruise easily." They are prone over-reacting and to feeling hurt all too easily over things that most people are able to ignore or shrug off. These people are rather unfortunate for being so sensitive.

Yes, it could be... but to be highly sensitive doesn't mean to have always good intuitions....
Better to be highly sensitive and clever people to ensure a good range of intuitions.

I tend to be pretty sensitive. Not like, I'm touchy, but I'm aware of peoples feelings an can see both sides of an issue. Honestly, my intuition has proven to be correct more times than I like.

Yes. I'm that way and so is my daughter. We avoid 'fake' people. We can't feign affection or interest. Other people don't seem to be bothered by things like lying and hurting someone's feelings. We would never do that. On the other hand, if someone is being sarcastic with us, our feathers get fluffed.
