Thanks, Jen, I'll try that. And that's not the problem Cayman. I'm know what you mean about trouble with battery power but it shouldn't keep going down when it's turned off.

It is one thing to hold down the 'Play' button so that it turns off, but you must flip the Hold switch on top of the iPod so that hitting a button does not turn it back on. When you turn off your iPod, push the Hold switch to where it shows orange. This keeps the iPod from turning on, because the click-wheel is sensitive to the touch. With the Hold switch engaged, your iPod will stay off and not run down your battery. :) Hope this helps.

Your battery power can be gone, depending on how old your ipod is, things like leaving your ipod plugged in charging after it is fully charged or never letting the power fully go our of your battery can shorten the lifespan of your battery! Happened to my friend and it ended up being cheaper to buy a new new ipod as it was about $75 to get it repaired and that doens't include postage!

I think if you put the iPod on hold once you turn it off it helps save the battery.

do u put your iPod on hold? cause that can drain the battery and also ur iPod could b getting turned on and off by things in ur purse or iPod so try putting it in its own zippered compartment if it still drains battery then i would have it looked at by an Apple technichian

Restore your ipod to it's original state and then re-upload all of your music. I just had the problem that you're describing and restoring fixed it! Go to this site: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/. I skipped to the last step (restore) and now mine runs as good as new! :-)
