I am in the process of wallpapering my bathroom with fabric. I have heard that I need to do it using liquid starch. Is liquid starch the same thing as corn starch mixed with water? If not, can I make it myself without having to buy the spraycans of it?

No, it's not the same. Liquid starch is usually sold in the laundry section of most stores. Usually it is on the bottom or top shelf in the same area as the spray starch. I've found it in grocery stores, Walmart and Target so if you can't find it at one store, try another. In some areas, natural or whole food stores are more likely to carry it.

For cooking or laundry??? For laundry, most major stores have spray starch, so I assume you mean cooking.. Put some arrowroot (don't buy it at a chain store, buy it in bulk at Winco or Costco, it's about 1/100th the price) or corn starch in a large cup, mix in water bit by bit, just until it's all dissolved. Pour this into a cruet or bottle with a tight top, making sure to leave some extra room for vigorous shaking, and refrigerate. When you need it, just pull it out and shake it to death until mixed again, it works pretty well... As far as where to BUY it, haven't a clue, just mix it when ya need it, it only takes a fork and a cup... Good luck.
