I'm looking for a family plan, 2 lines, sharing about 400 or so minutes. Don't need ANYTHING fancy. I'd like nationwide long distance and no roaming fees. Just a good, basic plan with a couple of decent, uncomplicated phones. Suggestions gratefully appreciated!

Yeah, get the consumer reports, Verizon is generally on the top when it comes to reception and customer service (this includes billing disputes). T-Mobile is a close second, but does not offer free mobile to mobile. Consumer Reports Jan. 2007 issue should clear things up.

Go to a library and ask for the January 2007 issue of Consumer Reports. It rates phones and plans. I think you'll find that Verizon is best across the nation. $40 for 450 anytime minutes and unlimited nights and weekends. No time charge for calls between Verizon phones. Add $5/month for about 250 text messages.
