if you want to find good parties, there are always websites and such. I live in Montréal, and there is still a really good scene here for any type of music. Toronto and New York still have good scenes too, and as far as the west coast goes, you needn't even look anywhere because sanfransisco, l.a. and Vancouver get some baddasss music.

you could also being getting into the underground scene by going to more mainstream parties and connecting with people who seem to really know the music, they usually always have good connections.

Shambhala is basically the best rave/party you have ever been to, but a week long and in the mountains with 6 stages. :D :D
