Zilch, but if I were you the only chance you will ever have is to declare yourself homeless and constantly get down that council office and plant yourself there, make such a nuisance of yourself, say your not leaving until they have got you somewhere to live.

No I don’t think that any young person whether they come from a poor area or not should get a council flat. Life is hard for everyone and if you make it that if you are young and you have a new baby you will get a flat. Then young people will be having babies left right and centre. I think that if you are young having a child should be the last thing on your mind, unless you can of course support yourself and the child. Stay in school, go to college / Uni get a good job and then think about having a child. Some argue that it’s because teenagers get some many benefits and a council flat this is the reason for the high rates of pregnancy. Other say it’s because they want something to love and to give then unconditional love in that case get a dog or a cat it will cost a lot less

Where I live in Scotland the wait wouldn't be over long but first offers would be in high flats and the like. Most of these flats still have nice people but most want out of them because of the amount of young people now housed their, doing drugs, causing fights etc. Don't know if you are still living with parents but if you are there is nothing to stop you putting your name down, it will take a lot longer but in this area you are allowed to refuse 3 times and I think you also drop points of the list with each refusal but normally by the third time it is an offer in a nice area.

A friend of ours is a single young man and he got a very nice council flat quite easily-you will get a studio or one bedroom place because they're not suitable for parents/families.It really depends on availability in your area.Good luck!
P.S-lipz20-that was a disgusting answer, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.

go to your nearest council office and register with them. tell them your circumstances and why you need a place of your own. they will put you on the list and then when places come up you can bid for them. you have probably got a good chance as the housing have one bed flats for single persons so do it tomorrow don't waste time the sooner your on that list the better. good luck

I'm afraid it's extremely difficult. Firstly you have to have very good reasons for needing to be rehoused. Then you will, more than likely, have to wait for eternity. If you were ever offered something it would more than likely be a bedsit.
It's very very much dependent on your circumstances and level of need.
