I'm 13 weeks pregnant and had an ultrasound last week. Because you're so early in the pregnany it will be a vaginal probe. They'll have you undress from the waist down and cover with a sheet. The tech will hand you the probe under the sheet to get it in and then she will guide it to see the baby. She'll measure the length, check out your ovaries, check the heartbeat and give you a due date based on the babies size. The tech sends the info (or you carry it) to your doctor who will go through the info with you. If there's a problem, you won't know until you talk to the doctor. THe tech can't tell you much.
Shopping wise, I like target and old navy (online only). I've gotten some of my best maternity clothes at rummage sales. Some people don't know what to do with their clothes and don't want to go through the trouble of eBay, so they just donate them.
Best of luck to you!!!!

Well, first what to expect with the ultrasound. U need to have a full bladder going in. They will rub some stuff on your tummy and then rub a wand like thing over it and you will see the baby, which they may refer to as a fetal pole, I don't know how far along u have to be before u can actually see a "baby".
There is a chance u will have to have a vaginal U/S and if u do they will have you empty ur bladder and they will insert a long wand into your vagina, and will look at it that way.
About the clothes, I got alot of my clothes at consignment shops, you save money that way because u will only wear them a couple of months. I invested in one pair of good blue jeans (new) and a couple of shirts, everything else I got @consignment shops. The bigger u get the less u will think about cute and the more u will think about comfy. As far as shoes, go for comfort. Maybe invest in a good pair of earth shoes.

dont worry about showing early, everyone is different. I was convinsed that i was at least a couple of weeks further along then said because i popped out very early and it never stopped! But based on ultrasound they kept my due date which is supposedly march 11 and i am still pregnant at 37 weeks and huge. So wait to see what the dr says but chances are you are just showing early, no big deal. As for the shopping i would get a few basic stuff like some jeans, and capris or long shorts for spring, some t-shirts, etc stuff that you can grow into for now. There is really cute maternity clothes at old navy, target, and motherhood maternity for not bad prices. You can try and buy larger shirts for now but i would def invest in a pair of maternity pants, you will be surprised in how fast you will fill them out. I would wait on any super summery stuff as you just cant predict how big you will be, by summer you are going to be ready to pop like i am now and you wil have outgrown some of your maternity clothes! Luckily in summer you can wear flip flops which are really comfy and go with a lot of things thanks to them comong back into fashion, but for now stick with some funky comfy sneakers or a pair of basic flats. Best of luck hope this helps a little bit!

At six mths into my sis's pregnancy she was in a size 6! Seventh mth she blew out like balloon.. My point is....... she was a tiny boney little thing and she did just fine! Don't worry eventhough it's only natural to do so! You'll drive yourself crazy if you let it.
As far as shopping... I was recently introduced to Ross's.... It was a wonderful place (my opinion). The clothes are very reasonable. I didn't buy maternity clothes per say maternity, but I got all my maternity fitting clothes at K-Mart though! That was over 3 yrs ago. I got stretchy waistbands to accomodate my expanding stomache and big shirts that had a little flare at the bottom to cover my growing belly! I was huge at my nine months! My midwife said not to wear dresses to my appts! I wish you the best of luck. May you have a smooth pregnancy and short labor and a safe delivery!! Congrats...ttc#2

first off they dont put you in a gown and all that for a sono. you go in unbutton your pants and lay on a table.... thats all the prep.... yea theyll ask you questions, like your name, and how far you are and if youve had any prgnancies before...
as for the clothes...dont buy any maternity yet....buy some cute sweatpants...(track suit or something, you dont have to wear the tops....) and then look for some cute tops that have a fluttering belly....(like a babydoll nightie.....)
or try ebay.... you can usually find some really cute lots of clothes under the maternity section....
oh and if your 11 weeks your too early to use the doppler....
oh and not to scare you...(dont stress over this.....seriously, youll just make yourself sick....) you could be big because your either farther along than 11 weeks, you have a cyst, or your carying twins....gestational diabetees can make the baby bigger but i dont know about this early in the preg....

Congrats on the baby!
Cute and pregnant, the images that come to mind of myself are not cute. But that said, think semi-short dresses, spaghetti straps. Fun girly fabrics.
Also, I LOVED my shorts/overalls. I had the cutest floral pair, maternity of course!
For shoes, honey..think COMFORT. Trust me, as you gain water weight, you won't want cute. You will want comfy.
Ultrasounds are super. LOVED mine. They just gel you up and you hear that heartbeat..and you cry and cry. It's the best. Congrats!
DO NOT go shoppzilla right now. Trust me. You have no idea what you are going to be able to wear, and when. If you have loads of money (oh man, I wish I did!) then buy fun things for AFTER the baby. Get that baby room ready. Think of stuff that inspires brain activity. Look for baby mozart videos and cds! Play lots of mozart now, to increase your baby's smarts!
Again, congratulations on that baby.

I found pregnany the most joyful experience ever!!!! Just be happy and go with it...
Now, for clothes, you are lucky to be in an era where anything goes!!!! Pregnant woman are beautiful, so don't feel you have to cover it up...Wear what feels comfortable for you, be it shorts, a short, or long T shirt, don't fuss over a lot of maternty clothes. The best footwear is barefoot, but for work, stores etc., I'd wear flip flops or comfy sneakes...that's just me.

I didn't have to change when i had my ultrasound. They used cold jelly and moved the "ultrasound mouse" over my stomach. Thats it. I like the babydoll dresses. not only are they cute, but they can be used at tops over stretch shorts and leggings. Very comfy and inexpensive. flip flop style for summer. Winter tennis shoes and a stretchy pair of black flats. Your feet will fat the last couple of months.

I have no advice on the shopping.
When you go to the Dr's you will have to give some personal info. then you will be asked to pee in a cup. Given a gown to wear. Breast exam. Pap smear if you are due for one and possibly an u/s. Nothing to it! Good luck!
