Ok. There is 1 store in the city I live in (oklahoma city) that sells boots (they had 12 different ones to look at).

Should I buy one of those 12 or wait until I go to the resort and buy them there? Will they have a wider variety?

Yeah try the store that is local to you first if they have twelve different boots in your size thats not a bad selection. Always remember when buying boots comfort comes first if your boots don't fit you right they will be no good to you. Try on all the boots in the shop and have a good walk rouned in them to make sure they are a good compfy fit, try not to be influenced by design colour etc as when your bindings are done up noone will really be able to see them anyway. If you can't find any boots in your local shop then there should be a massive selection at the resort you are going to although they might be a bit more pricey. Also never buy boots online always try them on first.

The difference between buying on mountain and off mountain is usually the price... i find that stuff is more expensive when buying on the mountain. So i suggest to go find a snowboard shop in a town near by to you.

You should check out actual snowboard shops and not just general sports stores, because actual snowboard shops will have better expert advice, better products on offer and more range.

Never buy online snowboard boots unless you have previously tried on the boots at a shop and know they fit and you know the size.

If you've tried on the 12 boots at that store and you found a pair that fit perfectly and are comfortable then you should buy them, if not then keep looking.

Well, the resorts I've been to (in Montana) don't have a variety of boots, if any at all. What ever you do don't order from a catalog or online unless you know your size for sure. I'm surprised that there is only one store that sells them in your town. Sporting goods stores, Zumiez, and other stores like that carry them. Your best bet is to find a store in another town near you that sells them, and find some good ones. Remember, you want them tight, but you still want to be able to wiggle your toes....I hope you find some!

Go to your local shop and try on some boots of different companies. Some brands fit wider or longer then others just like shoes. Find the sizing for boots you like from companies and go buy the same size online. ALWAYS try on a boot before you buy it

depends what 12 they are. i greatly recomend burton moto boots. they are amazing. they have speedzone lacing, which is fast, and offers more stability than traditional laces. not only that, but the price isn't bad. it's around $110
