I'm writing a classification/division essay for class, and I'm looking for some more examples. My paper is on Horror flicks. I've divided that into Dark Comedy (Scary movie series, gremlins, shawn of the dead), Slasher ( Saw series, Final Destination Series, Texas Chainsaw Massacre), and Suspense/Thriller (Spawn, Storm of the Century, Silent Hill, Most of stephen King's movies, Grudge, Dark Water). I was wondering if you guys could give me some more ideas to go into each of the divisions. The more you have to work with, the better! Thanks!

You need a "classics" category for films like halloween, children of the corn, nightmare on elm street, etc.

house of a 1,000 corpses, great film by Rob Zombie is funny and gore fabulous, devils rejects was darker but equally as amusing and kept my eyes wide.......ck out some of Mel Brooks old comedy horrors, such as Haunted Honeymoon (awesome cheez factors of course but for its time, for all time immeasurable), another of his would be Young Frankenstein...um....im by all means no critic at any of these , i watch horror for pure fulfillment , but if still want more ...or The Burbs, now that was funny and yet suspenseful, although in all honesty not scary...The Others and different /dark....Clue the mid to late 80's version hilarious and suspenseful, Silence of the Lambs, and its sequels Hannibal Lector, and Red Dragon, they were magnificently written and produced.....more cheez ah, The House movies, People under the Stairs....and the Black and White Classics, maybe Psycho, and Attack of the Killer Tomato, and any Alfred Hitchcock's movies ...i hope this could help...

Suspense. The unknown ( as is something you can't see or control.) And the whole fact that the movies are made out as if someone taped the whole ordeal by them selves. We all know its not a true story but having someone behind the camera that's also in the movie gives it that extra excitement. I.E. cloverfeild. Or quarentine.

Saw 1 and 2. I don't know if a soon to be released movie will do any good, but Dead Silience is another. I don't see Chucky on your list.

Well it looks like you already have enough to describe the division why not correlate the date of release with public appeal of the era. I suspect you'll find that many of the classifications developed from what was acceptable and addressed a thought of the time.
