I am doing an upgrade - not a clean installation. Will all my documents/programs be deleted?

As long as you are not doing a clean install, your files will not be deleted. They may however be moved to an old windows files folder.

Backup to an external hard drive or flashdrives any files, photos, etc that you wish to save.

You can try renaming My Documents to My Documents Old. If Windows XP creates a new My Documents, you can go into My Documents Old and copy them into the new My Documents, and if all transferred o.k., delete the old.

Now uninstall Win2000, power off to totally clear memory, then power on and install WinXP.

It is highly recommended you back up your documents, to disketted, CD, DVD, whatever you have, just in case, but your documents will not be deleted if all goes the way it should be. It is recommended you back up your work even if you aren't planning upgrades.
