You can do this with 100% reliability by first building up a DAM of putty around the proposed drilling hole area. Then fill that with regular oil plus a rubbing compound abrasive mixed. For this abrasive you can use regular automotive polishing abrasive compound purchased at like NAPA. Then put the glass on a flat surface under your drill press and take a regular flat wooden dowel and start abrading the glass running the drill press at slow speed. You can abrade a 3/8 hole in about 15 minutes. I also use a putty dam and take a regular discarded metal soup can and put a spindle on it and run that in my drill press and can abrade a 2 inch or more hole right thru the glass.
This is a very old method, used to make those round holes in Theater glass where you got your tickets and paid thru that round hole in that glass.

If you are not sure you can safely drill the holes without breaking the glass then don't drill.
Buy 6 small capital L shape picture hooks and screw them onto the wall. 2 at the bottom of the glass either side to rest the glass on, 2 at the top either side to hold the glass back and one each side of the glass so it wont move sideways. You wont even notice them when there up.

While it may not be as aesthetically pleasing, I would strongly suggest getting some kind of decorative bracket to mount it. If this is something of value to you, don't try and drill it yourself, too many bad things can happen. If it is tempered glass you won't be able to drill it anyway. If you are mounting it flush to the wall there are small hangers designed just for that purpose that you can find at any home products store.
Good Luck!

If you must drill holes in it, buy some clear duct tape, put it over the area on both sides, then use a VERY sharp drill bit, carefully.

A diamond coated drill like this will do it-

But you are perhaps better off using some mirror fixings, then you do not need to drill the glass.

If its tempered - verified by a small stencil in one of the four corners, drilling should not be attempted - you won't succeed.
Otherwise careful and slow

A glass shop would charge about 30.00 to drill for you, They have the correct tools and you don't have to worry about cracking it.
