Crimson means red. Tide is a tide. Crimson sometimes is used to describe blood when it comes to movies and water for some reason. Soooooo Crimson Tide is probably a bloody sea.

Crimson Tide is a monthly event which takes place off the south eastern coast of the big island of Hawaii. Every month, women from local tribes surf enormous waves of the Crimson Tide in celebration of the Goddess of fertility. As they balance on their surfboards with baskets on their heads, they fling K'ot'ex (Hawaiian word for "cotton pony" ) into their wakes.

Women on the mainland practice their own primitive form of worshiping the goddess, but are forced to use their own toilets because of lack of surfable waves. Hope this helps.
