I have always seen frogs in a tank but the tank has a space where the frogs can come up for air. Do frogs need air?? If it depends on the fish I have a two tetras and an orange fish the size of a guppie.

Yes of course frogs need air, all living things things do. As long as they can go to the surface and stick their nose out they are fine. Yes you can add frogs to a tank with small fish like yours and you don't have many so they might even like the distraction. Only larger or aggressive fish tend to pick on or eat frogs. Yours should have no problems at all. Just make sure you let them acclimate to your water type and temp just like a fish though and feed them right, they aren't fish!

yes frogs need air.. some are better adapted for life in the water such as african clawed frogs..there are many different types of frogs t chose from and with most you would neet some sort of perch or a place for the frog to "sun" or warm up. it can be done..its done all the time..the success of it depends on how much time you want to spend on it.. ..hey if you get tadpoles you can watch the whole life cycle..its kinda neat

Yes, they need air, no, they don't need to get out of the water onto land if you get one of these types of frogs:

African Dwarf Frog - smaller of the two, generally safe with fish http://allaboutfrogs.org/info/mypets/dwarfs.html.

African Clawed Frog - will get the size of a baseball and eat anything it can fit in its mouth - it can be kept with fish, as long as the fish are quite large! http://www.wnyherp.org/care-sheets/amphibians/african-clawed-frog.php, http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=17&cat=1848&articleid=3046

Also, since they need to come up to the surface for air, they will do better in low tanks - especially the dwarves!
