My mom wont let me get a cell phone?

Okay I'm 13 and started asking for a cell phone since last October (for my b-day) I told her straight out that I would bring my grades up, do more chores and do them without being told, I would pay for everything (prepaid), I would be resposible I even made a "contract" that I signed that said they could pick how many inutes I used, what friends I could have, and all that other. She considered it but said No! She said I'm too young. But every has one though. What should I tell her?

Yes I've improved in maturity, definatly grades, definatly chores too, and alot more! I do sports and tried but my neighbor plays the same thing and his dad is the coach so I always get a ride home! I am about to give up because I really really want one!

convince to her to go one of the stores only (and ONLY) to look around. don't go asking for a phone as soon as you get there. you will lose trust. and ask one of the guys who work there if there are many 13 year olds who get cell phones. he will mostly likely say yes. then leave.
this might get your mom to start considering.
then get a cheap phone, and use it wisely.
call your mom every once in a while to check in when you're out.
you have to convince your mom that you are going to be USING your phone instead of just having it like other kids.
also calling her a lot on a friend's phone might work too.
she probably just thinks that you're too young and have no real use for it.
make her think otherwise.

I didnt have a cellphone until i was 15 and i bought it myself started off pre-paid you cant have a contract phone until your 18 i believe. But i suppose you should save up some money and buy your phone. it all depends on what cellphones your friends have, like me alot of my friends and family use nextel so i use boostmobile works good for me and i keep in contact with everyone. you might like it boostmobile.com , or you can get a pre-paid cingular phone, or even t-mobile.

have you done any of those things yet? you need to prove that you are responsible when it comes to chores, school, and home life. make sure you are neat and responsible and do things without being told even once. make sure that you are kind to your family and avoid getting into continuous trouble. also, avoid asking a million times, because that will only make her think you are acting childish, so don't do that. good luck!

I actually didn't have to beg my mom when I was 13, she added me to her Verizon but I couldn't get a new phone, i got her Old LG. But I got my first hpone when i was 10, and I had to buy my own.

I had the same problem. My mom asked me if I needed a cell phone. You have to think of reasons why you need it. If you do sports or other stuff, use that as a reason.

Do you have a job? How do you plan to pay for it? @ $40/month don't you have other more important things to save for?
