Hate is a strong word, but i can't bear his voice and songs and i doubly disliked him after the stuff about dumping his wife by fax and promising to leave the country if the Tories hadn't won the election in 1997 (Which he did, our loss, Switzerland's gain...).

Is he truly horrible or what?

i do. never understood the appeal of his music. all his ballads sound the same as each other and are dreary, depressing and cringe-worthy. i loathe listening to against all odds and groovy kind of love. as for the lyrics, my word, most of it is just so mushy and excruciatingly bad. btw, did you ever notice that there was an album of phil collins cover versions that was released way back a couple of years ago? they were sung predominately by afro-american musicians and bands. i'm even more surprised exactly as to what is it about that man's music that they would want to record phil collins covers and do it in an r'n'b way. he's so cheesy- and yet, he's also popular at the same time (sadly for us). but phil collins and chris de burgh- or de bleugh!- are the anti-christs of pop

Yeah. I agree with you, he is a complete and utter waste of time. Glad he does not appear to be making music anymore. WHat I don't understand how credible rap artists can sample him on some of their rap songs !!! Though I like Genesis's "Mama" song sung by Phill Collins, that is as far as I can go listening to this moron.

Can't stand him - never liked anything he has done, either solo or in a group.
Music for people that listen to Heart FM and think that going to B&Q on a Sunday is a way to live.

There aren't many celebrities that I would like on a personal basis to tell you the truth. I like some of his music though...Not all of it.
I try not to care too much about how the rich and famous live their lives.
They are only human like us after-all.

Well I don't care much about his political and family issues, but I dislike his songs - cheezy, corny, fake, total cliches. He is a fantastic drummer, though, really mind-boggling technique.

He's constantly crooning about some woman who's dumped on him, it got old fast.
