Do toys thrown in the trash get recycled?

I tossed a bunch of dirty action figures, stuffed animals, and big plastic toy soldier mountain playset into the garbage. I know the stuffed animals won't but what about the plastic toys?

If you just threw them in the garbage they will just be taken to the local dump. If you are interested in having the toys be recycled or given to some children in need, give them to your local salvation army or charity. You can even get a list of what was given and the value of it for tax purposes.
