I have Laminate Floors throughout my apt. No carpet just laminate. How do I keep them cleaned?
This is what I have tried and it doesnt work.
Swifter
murfeys oil soap
Soap and water
I even rented a hard wood floor cleaner and nothing worked. I end up vacuuming it almost everyday but that doesnt do the job... Any suggestions please!!!!!

I am a laminate installer and I answer this question on every job. I recommend the use of water and ammonia, water and vinegar, or a laminate cleaner that can be bought at Lowe's or similar store.
I usually suggest using a Swiffer but if you have tried that and don't like the results you may try the Swiffer Wet. Never use any product with soap or wax on a laminate floor since it will cause haziness.

yes well I have to say they are by far the hardest to keep clean. I use a hoover but I also use the swifter but not with the cloth´s that you would normally use. I found that they only lift very little dirt or dust , So I tried with Spontex duster , they are really good as there is something in this wipe that stop´s the dust going back onto the surface ,they are also good for dusting the TV , Computer anything really that collect´s dust in your home , I can clean all the furniture Book shelf´s etc at the begging of the week , and you hardly notice any dust at all by the end of the week they look the same the same color so have a look for them other than that , put carpet or rug´s but that means more hoovering

Taking your shoes off is about the best your going to do. The one thing I learned with hardwood floors is they seem to be impossible to keep clean. Obviously you aren't going to let them get disgusting. But Swiffering once a day and mopping a couple of times a week should be sufficient. Remember that you want to keep your baby in a clean but not sterile environment. There are many good bacteria that he will pick up and needs to. If he isn't exposed to bad bacteria, then he will not ever develop a strong immune system.

The best thing is to stay off your Floors.. (LOL)
No really...
There are Specialty laminate floor cleaners that you can buy in the stores. As you can't clean these types of floors like the others.

You sound like a clean freak. All of those methods work for normal people. It's just dust, get over it. There's better things to do with your life than vacuuming every day.

I am in the cleaning business and here is our secret!
We use the swiffer, but instead of using t hose expensive refills,
We buy this cleaning cloth off the internet. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out….hope this helps…Steve

Do you have pets, chidren? Have you tried cleaning the heater ducts? End dust worked best for me. You are lucky we sweep and dust at least twice daily because of animals and lots of visitors ( we have teenagers) When it was just two of us the end dust really helped. Also have everyone take off their shoes!

just keep cleaning... or maybe things in your home are dirty, maybe you are dirty j/k (sorry had to put that in)

When u clean your house, first do dusting of furniture, use glass cleaner etc., then do the floors either vacum them or use a broom to get all the "dust bunnies" and hair, then wash them, I like soap and water.
it is hard for me to believe that the floors are still dirty after u wash them... do u have pets? are you a clean freak?
Maybe it's just all in your head.

try to apply floor wax, transparent wax, then scrub it with a piece of cloth, the result will be very very clean and shiny.
