John Deacon.
He was playing with a Rock group, that made the most difficult music to play and follow, and he came up with excellence.

Once again, there can be no "better" in arts, everyone is great at what s/he does. Flea coouldn't invent any of Deacy's lines, nor could Deacon ever slap like Flea. They're both great, and completely different. Why can't you guys settle with that? My question is - if we all vote one as the best, will you stop listening to the other? If not, why ask such a pointless question? Besides, if you want to hear really amazing bass, listen to Victor Wooten, or Jaco Pastorius, or Richard Bona.
See this kid, Shaemus? You NOTICE Flea's lines more, and the kid think it's "better" LOL Also, hear the guy in the jambase band Moe.(with the period after the name), particularly the song called "Rebubula"

Flea. Have you ever tried to play slap-and-pop bass lines? that's all flea uses. just watching people play them makes my hand hurt. And i can't think of a single queen bass line other than "Another One Bites The Dust". I can imagine all RHCP bass lines.
