My friends and I from the UK are planning a US road trip from the 29th August to the 12th September along the Californian coast. Has anyone got any recommendations for destinations or advice? We're flying into LAX.

Thanks for your help!!!

Drive up to San Francisco - it is a beautiful city with A LOT of different cultural influences and it has a great night life. The Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park are beautiful.
From San Francisco you can go on to the Napa Valley and do some wine tasting if you and your friends are of drinking age (21), then you can go to Sacramento if you want to learn some about the California Gold Rush era. Sacramento has a couple of British style pubs if you want to visit those for a bit of a taste of home - Streets of London which gets a bit crowded and noisy, and the Bonn Lair which is a bit more laid back and subdued. Both are located on J street in Sacramento

Drive along PCH-Pacific Coast Highway. Then drive along route 66. It will take you to Chicago.

I know nothing about L.A., but my Uncle lives in Napa Valley and he said it is a beautiful place to drive/ride through.
